Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL)

About the LEL program

The Nevada Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) program is established to assist all Nevada law enforcement agencies in their efforts to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury crashes and enhance communication with the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).

The LEL coordinates with various entities of the judicial system to enhance the ability for proper adjudication for violations known to contribute to fatal and serious injury crashes.

The LEL facilitates training, procurement of equipment, and provides information regarding trends in state and national law enforcement activities.

These functions are established to support the six  (6) Critical Emphasis Areas (CEA) established by the State of Nevada: Impaired Driving, Occupant Protection, Intersections, Lane Departures, Pedestrian Safety, and Motorcycle Safety.  The LEL also coordinates activities that support all OTS programs.
